While R.I.C.E. stands for Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation, our design emphasizes combining cold therapy with gentle, wearable compression for more effective relief. It offers a practical way to manage discomfort caused by knee pain, meniscus tears, arthritis, patellar tendonitis, swelling, bursitis, and other common knee-related problems—especially helpful in the early hours of discomfort.
Deeper Hot & Cold Therapy:This device provides both dynamic and static compression to support recovery. Users can adjust modes as needed, but we recommend cold therapy with dynamic mode during the Acute Injury Phase (0-72 h) to reduce pain and flush out inflammatory substances, or switch to static mode for steady pressure that functions like an knee support brace. In the Recovery Phase (Day 4+), hot therapy with dynamic compression is recommended to promote tissue repair, reduce stiffness, and speed up healing. Compared to a standard knee ice pack, it delivers deeper, more effective relief.
Safe Pressure:According to Therapeutic Modalities in Rehabilitation by William E. Prentice, it is recommended to maintain compression between 20-60 mmHg during the acute phase of injury, as excessive pressure may lead to secondary damage. That's why our device is preset to a safe range of 30-60 mmHg, offering effective support while minimizing risk. If the pressure feels too gentle, you may gradually tighten the straps as your recovery progresses. However, please note that more pressure isn’t always better—always follow your doctor’s advice when using compression therapy.
